What's in my name

I know, it may sound a bit silly, but a wise man once said “What’s in a name?”

So, what’s in my name?

The nickname "Linguistic Fairy Godmother" was given to me by one of my first clients (now a friend) because he found in me not only a trusted English-to-Italian translator, but also the person he could always turn to for language matters and, more than once, he didn’t even have to.

I was there, reading his content, and anytime I would notice a flaw, I would make sure to let him know before anyone else could notice.

And that’s what I can do for you too.

Being a translator for me means having an eagle eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality to ensure that your message remains as clear, mistake-free and communicative as the first time it was conceived.

I must admit I’ve always been a bookworm, that’s true, but my hectic life as a Certified Translator in London had kept me away from this side of me, at least for some time.

But then, forced to stay home, with plenty of free time, it didn’t take long for my true self to come to the surface: I soon started to dive into literature again. I found that reading so soothing that I immediately started recommending it to friends and family when all of a sudden it hit me: I was taking for granted my access to worldwide literature. That book had never been translated into Italian, and knowing that my family couldn’t feel the way I felt, just because of language, made me feel helpless because everyone deserves a piece of that magic.

I had no choice: I had to specialize in Literary Translation.

And that’s what I did! With an indefinite number of courses, webinars and CPD programs attended + 5 published translations and dozens of proofreading works, I’m now proud to call myself a Literary Translator.

Did I give up Legal Translation?

Not at all, as an English and Spanish to Italian Translator I still believe I must put my legal translator skills to use, to help people overcome linguistic barriers when dealing with bureaucracy.
